19 Years Old

Releasing in July of 2006, the Weigers are one of the oldest SB Dunks available on the market. The Nike Dunk, designed in the 1980s and intended for basketball, was eventually repurposed for skateboarding. The popular model would be reworked in the early 2000s with upgrades for the skateboarding community, leading to the formal debut of the Nike SB brand. The Weigers celebrate their 19th birthday this year, making them nearly impossible to find in this brand-new, well-kept condition.

Simplicity

The first Nike SB amateur given the keys to the Dunk, Wieger Van Wageningen played favorites with the Dunk Low Pro SB. The simplicity of a classic black-and-white colorway and suede construction became the playground for Wieger to add an embroidered logo, memorializing the columns at a beloved skate spot in central Amsterdam. In the wake of its release, the Weiger Dunk helped spark a trend in minimal, black-and-white tonality trend in the Dunk, counter to the loud colorways that first caught on with fans.
